In response to today’s announcement that legislation will be introduced to end defined benefit pensions for new hires and current employees with less than five years of service by creating a “hybrid” pension, New Jersey State AFL-CIO President Charles Wowkanech released the following statement:

The 2019 Municipal Non-Partisan Elections will take place today in the following Municipalities: Margate, Lodi, Mount Ephraim, Haddon Twp., Avalon, Sea Isle City, South Orange, Cedar Grove, Verona, West New York, North Bergen, Ocean Twp., Loch Arbour, and Passaic.

ATU International President Larry Hanley has passed away

It is with an extremely heavy heart that we inform you of the death of long-time labor leader and visionary, Larry Hanley, International President of the Amalgamated Transit Union (ATU).
