It was a monumental weekend for 28 union members who graduated from the New Jersey State AFL-CIO’s 23^rd annual Labor Candidates School on Sunday.

The New Jersey State AFL-CIO is pleased to announce that Labor Candidate John Amodeo has been elected to the Margate Commission. His victory came during Tuesday’s Municipal Non-Partisan Elections.

The 2019 Municipal Non-Partisan Elections will take place today in the following Municipalities: Margate, Lodi, Mount Ephraim, Haddon Twp., Avalon, Sea Isle City, South Orange, Cedar Grove, Verona, West New York, North Bergen, Ocean Twp., Loch Arbour, and Passaic.

New Jersey State AFL-CIO Celebrates 1,030 Labor Candidate Election Victories  

The New Jersey State AFL-CIO is pleased to announce that our Labor Candidates Program has notched two more labor candidate election victories. Romaine Graham of the International Union of Operating Engineers (IUOE) Local 68 was appointed to fill a Freeholder vacancy in Essex County, while Jamillah Beasley-McCloed of the same Local was appointed to fill a vacancy in Irvington Council.

It’s Official—All New Jersey State AFL-CIO Endorsed Congressional Candidates Have Won!

Last night, Andy Kim declared victory in the 3^rd Congressional District, beating Republican Tom MacArthur and flipping a key Republican district in New Jersey. He now joins Mikie Sherrill, Tom Malinowski, and Jeff Van Drew, adding to the list of New Jersey State AFL-CIO-endorsed candidates who won open U.S. House seats that had long been held by Republicans.

NJ State AFL-CIO Labor Candidates Program Notches 1000th Win!

On Tuesday, Nov. 6, after what may have been the most consequential election in recent U.S. history, union members across New Jersey celebrated Bob Menendez’s reelection to the U.S. Senate as well as the election of all 12 labor-endorsed congressional candidates, nine State Senate and Assembly members, and fifty rank-and-file union members.

Labor walk volunteers come up big in final push before Election Day

Today, with only three days to go before the midterm elections, organized labor showed its strength as 2,029 volunteers turned out to Labor Walks across the state. Together, the volunteers knocked on 70,015 union household doors in a final effort to educate fellow members on the benefits of voting for candidates who will place the needs of working families first.
