Eight U.S. Representatives in New Jersey Co-Sponsor Bill to Protect and Strengthen the Collective Power of Workers

Rep. Donald Norcross, a New Jersey State AFL-CIO Labor Candidate, is leading the charge on yet another pro-worker bill. The new bill, the Protect the Right to Organize (PRO) Act of 2019, would modernize the National Labor Relations Act (NLRA) and strengthen the collective power of workers to negotiate for better pay and working conditions.

State Assembly Approves Bills Concerning Prevailing Wages, Health Insurance for Locked Out Workers, Safety Protections for Hotel Employees and Subcontracting of Education Services

In response to today’s announcement that legislation will be introduced to end defined benefit pensions for new hires and current employees with less than five years of service by creating a “hybrid” pension, New Jersey State AFL-CIO President Charles Wowkanech released the following statement:

The 2019 Municipal Non-Partisan Elections will take place today in the following Municipalities: Margate, Lodi, Mount Ephraim, Haddon Twp., Avalon, Sea Isle City, South Orange, Cedar Grove, Verona, West New York, North Bergen, Ocean Twp., Loch Arbour, and Passaic.
