Labor has done it again. The election of Sister Dahlia Vertreese, IUOE 68, as the Mayor of Hillside is a victory that bears the union label. Labor’s efforts were the heart and soul of this operation as hundreds of our brothers and sisters from across the region spent all week knocking on doors, planting lawn signs, distributing mail, and making calls late into the evening around the holidays – all following a rigorous campaign for the general election just a month ago.

Hillside Election Tomorrow: Vote Your Values

Polls Open 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

The Hillside runoff election takes place tomorrow, and union members from near and far will mobilize in support of Sister Dahlia Vertreese in her race for mayor. Labor walks, phone banks, and other GOTV activities will run throughout the day and be staged from Dahlia Vertreese Campaign Headquarters at the following time and place.

The Hillside runoff election is 3 days away, and this morning more than 80 union volunteers were out in force. If we can keep up this momentum, a victory on Tuesday, December 5th is all but certain. This will be a tight race decided by only a few votes, and there is no doubt that the edge will go to the side that works the hardest.

2017 Election Update: New Jersey Labor Candidate Victories Rise to 964

Labor won big this year, and the news just got better. After a tight race for Florence Township Council, our brother from LIUNA 172, Frank Baldorossi, Jr., prevailed. The final vote tally was 645 to 624, a difference of only 21 votes. We also congratulate IBEW 351 Brother Steve Light, who was elected to serve as a member of Absecon Council and our brother from IBEW 3, Michael Soriano, who secured a major victory in his race for Parsippany mayor.
