With Election Day in their sights, volunteers come out in droves to support New Jersey State AFL-CIO endorsed candidates.

Today, our walks launched from several locations across the state, with 1120 volunteers knocking on over 39,200 doors, helping to get the word out to our brothers and sisters about the candidates who represent our values.

There’s only one choice in the 3rd Congressional District: Andy Kim. To vote any other way is to vote against the Labor Movement, against working families, and against everything that we stand for.

Today, our Labor Walks launched at several new Central Labor Councils, including Middlesex/Somerset, Passaic, Northwest, and Southern New Jersey.

Volunteers exceed expectations as momentum builds in week 2 of Labor Walks

Two weeks into our annual Labor Walks and the momentum is building. Today, over two hundred and fifty volunteers from 39 local unions fanned out across the state to help educate fellow union members about candidates running for state, county, and local offices in the November 6th election. In total, the volunteers visited 8,925 union households—a significant increase from last week’s totals.

The New Jersey State AFL-CIO kicked off its annual Labor Walks today in several locations, including Burlington CLC, CWA 1036 in Mount Holly; Essex/West Hudson CLC, RWDSU 108 in Maplewood; Monmouth/Ocean CLC, IBEW 400 in Wall; Passaic CLC, UFCW 1262 in Clifton; and Union CLC, SWMIA 22 in Cranford.

In preparation for the upcoming Labor Walks, the New Jersey State AFL-CIO held Labor Walk Leaders Refresher Courses at IBEW Local 102 in Parsippany and IBEW Local 456 in North Brunswick Township.

The following Central Labor Councils will launch their first Labor Walks this Saturday: Burlington CLC, Essex/West Hudson CLC, Monmouth/Ocean CLC, Passaic CLC, and Union CLC. With Election Day less than two months away, it is time to make our voices heard, and we strongly encourage volunteers to come out and support our endorsed candidates.

New Jersey State AFL-CIO President Charles Wowkanech addressed the 40th Constitutional Convention of the BCTGM International Union in Las Vegas today, delivering a presentation that highlighted the benefits of the Labor Candidates Program and the importance of running union members for office.
